Frequently Asked Questions
Do you bring your own equipment?
Certainly! I come prepared with portable equipment and hand instruments, such as burs, sutures, syringes, needles, complete dental packs, and even paste.
However, I cannot bring digital dental radiography, a high-speed delivery unit, or an anesthetic machine, so I will need to use the clinic’s resources for these items.
I will also need a designated staff member from your practice to administer and monitor the patient’s anesthesia.
What do you need from us?
I request the patient’s veterinarian to collaboratively formulate and review the anesthetic protocol alongside myself and the Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) who will be responsible for monitoring and managing the general anesthesia. A designated RVT will be essential for overseeing the patient’s anesthesia, while I will handle all other aspects, including the oral examination, comprehensive pre-radiographs and post-operative care, as well as performing the cleaning and surgery.
The patient’s veterinarian should offer the appropriate specialty services in advance and provide a financial quote to the client prior to the day of surgery.
Are you board certified?
Yes! Dr. Saverino became a Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College (AVDC) in 2019.
What are your fees?
Feel free to obtain a comprehensive fee guide by reaching out to me via email.
What do we give owners for post-operative instructions?
For every patient, I create a comprehensive dental chart for inclusion in their medical records. Additionally, I furnish owners with a discharge document, encompassing a condensed dental chart summary derived from the oral examination and radiograph findings. This discharge package includes a treatment summary, instructions for at-home care, and recommendations for follow-up care.
What are your payment options?
I accept checks only at this time. Payment is expected the same day care is provided.
What are your hours?
I am available for phone and email consultations Monday-Friday from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. Surgical procedures are performed Monday through Friday; timing varies depending on the practice.
